Jr. Photographer

 

The Junior Photographer is expected to maintain the responsibilities of the Lead Operator, while taking on additional responsibilities to train to be a Photographer.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the production workflow, either under direct supervision of the Production Manager or working independently on tasks
    • Be proficient in all areas of Production, fulfilling any role necessary for the success of the production, whether as camera operator, styling assistant, merch coordination etc.
    • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the creative output, ensuring client’s style guide standards are being met
    • Assist with overseeing production by working with project personnel (i.e. operators, stylist, retouchers) to realize the client’s goals
    • Have a thorough understanding of all systems and workflows
    • Responsible for overall studio maintenance, including purchasing studio supplies and ensuring the appearance of the studio is up to Sandbox standards
    • Perform other duties as requested by Production Manager
  • Collaborate with and support the studio Photographer with the following:
    • Collaborate on the daily workflow and shoot schedule
    • Check sets built by operators to ensure that they adhere to the lighting diagrams.
    • Maintain the studio photo guide. Ensure the team follows accordingly.
    • Training of new operators and developing the team’s shooting skills.
    • Responsible for the maintenance of photography equipment
    • Train with the Photographer to be able to take full creative and production responsibility for all on-figure and tabletop ecommerce and editorial photography for the assigned client.
    • Various functions for a successful studio and creative output

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience with studio photography
  • Photography – fashion and ecommerce experience
  • Knowledge of Canon Camera systems
  • Experience with studio lighting systems
  • Professional attitude on set and in front of clients
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in Mac platform
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Capture One Pro
